Predigtstuhl - the local mountain of Bad Reichenhall

The Predigtstuhl stands at an elevation of 1614 meters. Even though it isn't the tallest of our Bavarian mountains, it is definitely one of the most beautiful and one of the absolute highlights of the region. The famous Predigtstuhl lift has been carrying passengers safely to the top of the 1614 meters-high Predigtstuhl since it first went into service back on 1 July 1928. Which makes it the oldest original, still-operational gondola lift in the world today. During the ride, the gondola covers a total distance of around 2500 meters. Having arrived at the top, you can sit out on a sunny terrace, sip on a cup of coffee and take in the breathtaking scenery.
